MyEllevate AT DERMACARE SAN DIEGO

MyEllevate is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that aims to achieve neck rejuvenation by tightening the skin beneath the chin. It provides dramatic results that many patients consider to rival that of a neck lift. It was developed by a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills and has since grown in popularity among people looking for a way to solve unwanted double chins or skin laxity.

Why Do We Need MyEllevate?

Unfortunately, as our bodies go through the aging process, the elasticity of our skin begins to break down. This is because the collagen and elastin production in our bodies begins to dramatically slow down. Collagen, in particular, is one of the most abundant proteins in our bodies and is primarily responsible for skin laxity.

After the age of 20, most people will lose approximately one percent of their collagen production every year. So it is natural that after a few years many people will experience some skin laxity underneath their chins. In addition, other factors like genetics and sun exposure can also play a part in the amount of dilapidation that occurs.

Aside from MyEllevate, there is rarely a way to achieve so much skin tightening without surgery, even in the bustling greater San Diego area. In short, we need this treatment because good alternatives are very few and far between.

What Does MyEllevate Treat?

MyEllevate specializes in one thing: eliminating the appearance of a double chin via neck tightening. Often, people experience this condition after weight fluctuation, pregnancy, the natural aging process, or lifestyle and environmental factors. (Sun exposure can damage your skin elasticity very easily.)

If you have developed this condition for any reason, then MyEllevate is a good option to consider that will not require any major incisions or extended downtime.

Am I a Candidate for MyEllevate Treatment?

If you are dealing with an unwanted double chin, then you are likely going to be a good candidate for this procedure since there are very few medical conditions that can prevent you from having this minimally invasive treatment done.

Since MyEllevate is usually performed under local anesthesia, we will need to consider your overall health and safety. During your consultation, our office will conduct a physical examination, review your medical history and listen to your aesthetic goals. Then, we will make sure we pick a safe route forward.

It is also important that anyone considering MyEllevate has realistic expectations about what the procedure can achieve. We recommend viewing plenty of before and after photos, reading up on as much info as possible, and bringing a list of questions with you during your consultation. The more information you have, the better you will feel as you move through the decision-making process.

How Should I Prepare for MyEllevate?

In some cases, you may need to have some preliminary blood work performed just to make sure that the local anesthesia is safe. Other than that, you will probably not need to worry about any other special precautions because no major incisions will be made. We recommend you avoid smoking for at least a few weeks before your procedure, and you should also avoid any anti-inflammatory medications or supplements that will make any potential bleeding worse.

What Should I Expect from a MyEllevate Procedure?

When you first arrive for the procedure at either our Rancho Bernardo or Carlsbad office, you will be placed under local sedation to ensure your safety and comfort. This will make you completely unaware of the procedure and help immensely with potential pain. The area will then be cleaned thoroughly to help prevent any chance of infection.

The procedure begins with a series of small needle punctures made around the targeted area. Then, small sutures are placed through the small needles into the muscle. The surgeon can then weave the sutures through the muscle as necessary and tighten them when they are in position. This causes an immediate improvement in the appearance of drooping skin and double chins. You can think about these sutures as you would tying a shoelace or lacing a corset.

Once the procedure is complete, you will be bandaged and cleaned up. You will be placed in our recovery area where you will await the beginning of your recovery process. The entire procedure takes about an hour.

What Is the MyEllevate Recovery Like?

Although you will be placed under anesthesia, the recovery time with MyEllevate is closer to what you would expect from something noninvasive. You will be able to immediately return to your daily routines and responsibilities, but you may need a few days in order for any residual soreness or discomfort to subside.

Remember it is normal for some mild bruising, swelling, or pain to develop after the surgery. Most patients describe it as nominal and rarely need even over-the-counter medication to cope.

The lack of recovery time and time off from obligations makes this treatment a great option for anyone with a busy schedule or who cannot afford to take time away from work or business.

What Results Does MyEllevate Provide?

MyEllevate provides immediate improvement to the lax skin under your shin and jaw, but it could take up to a month or two for the swelling to subside and the final results to set it. Although many patients are happy with just the initial improvement, they are even more excited to find that they continue to see improvement for at least a month or two.

Here is some more good news: MyEllevate can last up to seven years. If you are familiar with the timelines of other nonsurgical aesthetic treatments, you know that is an impressively long time to sustain results. There are little things you may be able to do to extend the lifeline of your results, such as maintaining a healthy diet and limiting excessive sun exposure, but regardless of those factors you can expect a lot of time from this one procedure.

How Much Does MyEllevate Cost?

You can expect to pay between$4900 and $7500 for your MyEllevate procedure, depending whether or not your treatment plan involves a laser liposuction procedure. While this is a good estimate, your final cost will be determined during your initial consultation, after our team has had a chance to review your medical history, conditions and listen to your aesthetic goals.
