How Should I Prepare for MyEllevate?

In some cases, you may need to have some preliminary blood work performed just to make sure that the local anesthesia is safe. Other than that, you will probably not need to worry about any other special precautions because no major incisions will be made. We recommend you avoid smoking for at least a few weeks before your procedure, and you should also avoid any anti-inflammatory medications or supplements that will make any potential bleeding worse.

What Should I Expect from a MyEllevate Procedure?

When you first arrive for the procedure at either our Rancho Bernardo or Carlsbad office, you will be placed under local sedation to ensure your safety and comfort. This will make you completely unaware of the procedure and help immensely with potential pain. The area will then be cleaned thoroughly to help prevent any chance of infection.

The procedure begins with a series of small needle punctures made around the targeted area. Then, small sutures are placed through the small needles into the muscle. The surgeon can then weave the sutures through the muscle as necessary and tighten them when they are in position. This causes an immediate improvement in the appearance of drooping skin and double chins. You can think about these sutures as you would tying a shoelace or lacing a corset.

Once the procedure is complete, you will be bandaged and cleaned up. You will be placed in our recovery area where you will await the beginning of your recovery process. The entire procedure takes about an hour.
