Turning back the clock on your appearance no longer requires a surgical procedure. A non-surgical facelift can address many of the same concerns associated with aging, producing excellent results that can last many months. There are a variety of options in non-surgical facelifts that allow the staff at Dermacare Laser & Skin Care Clinics to customize the procedure to the unique issues of each of our patients.
What are the choices?
There are two basic types of non-surgical facelifts offered at Dermacare:
This procedure involves a combination of injectable treatments to smooth away signs of aging and restore youthful volume to the facial profile. Dr. Birchall uses two different types of formulations to produce the best possible results for every patient.
Neuromodulators like Botox and Dysport are effective anti-wrinkle treatments. These formulations relax facial muscles that lead to the formation of facial lines, which produces a smoother, more youthful appearance to the skin. Neuromodulators are frequently used to treat horizontal lines on the forehead, vertical creases between the eyebrows and fine lines in the outer corners of the eyes, known as crow’s feet.
The medications are delivered directly to the facial muscles by injection, requiring no anesthetic and involving very little discomfort. Treatments take just a few minutes to complete and results can usually be seen soon after the procedure. Those results typically last three to four months before a subsequent treatment is needed.
Dermal fillers like Juvederm, Restylane and Bellafill are another type of injectable procedure that can be used to reverse signs of aging. These formulations work in a different manner, however. The solutions are injected into the lower dermal layers, where they can provide additional support to the skin structure and smooth away wrinkles from the inside out.
Dermal fillers are effective in reducing the appearance of lines and creases around the nose and mouth, including:
- Lines from the nose to the mouth (nasolabial folds)
- Creases from the mouth to the jawline (marionette lines)
- Small vertical lines in the corners of the mouth (smile lines)
In addition, dermal fillers can restore youthful volume to areas like the temples, cheeks, lips and along the jawline. They can also be used underneath the eyes to fill in the tear trough area and reduce the appearance of bags and dark circles. With a variety of formulations available, the possibilities are nearly endless for dermal fillers today. Most results will last six months to two years, depending on the specific formulation used and the area it is used to treat.
Full Facial Rejuvenation
When patients want additional enhancement beyond the injectable treatments, we have a variety of skin rejuvenation procedures we can add to the mix. These procedures offer full skin renewal to complement the results of the injections. Some of the most popular skin rejuvenation treatments used for our non-surgical facelift include:
This ablative laser treatment is fully customizable to the specific concerns of each patient, removing just enough dermal layers to produce optimal results. In addition to further reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, this procedure addresses mild to moderate skin laxity for a firmer, more youthful facial contour. Because the procedure also stimulates collagen production, the results will be both natural and long-lasting.
This is a fractional laser treatment that works by creating micro injuries in the skin that simulate the body’s own healing process. The micro injuries are created in a grid-like pattern, allowing surrounding skin and tissue to be untouched. This allows for less downtime after the procedure without compromising results. Fraxel is a good option for addressing uneven skin texture, enlarged pores, wrinkles and shallow scarring. PicoSure Skin Rejuvenation – This revolutionary treatment uses rapid pulse technology to treat signs of aging and other skin imperfections. The faster speed of the laser allows for deeper penetration into the underlying dermal layers without collateral damage. Collagen and elastin are produced to restore supple smoothness to the skin while fine lines, shallow scarring and pigmentation irregularities are visibly reduced. This relatively new technology is not widely available at this time, but the procedure is now offered at Dermacare Laser & Skin Care Clinics.
