The thing that has energized me the most since transitioning from traditional family practice to Dermacare is the learning process. I was becoming burned out after 17 years in family medicine. This has been a great change. Medical esthetics is a relative young field; new technologies are being developed all the time. We are still finding new ways to use already established procedures such as Botox, Juvederm, and various laser treatments. I recently came back from a 1-day update on SlimLipo and Fat Grafting and have a new list of ideas to improve the way we deliver our care. It seems that everyday there is something new to learn, new to apply and new to share. It is the learning that has brought joy back to my practice of medicine, and then, I get to double the joy by seeing our patients benefiting from these new discoveries.
