Looking for a way to regain your youthful appearance without surgery? The team at Dermacare Laser & Skin Care Clinics has the perfect solution for you. A liquid facelift is a non-surgical, minimally-invasive method of smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles and restoring fullness to the midface and under the eyes. With a variety of options to choose from, a liquid facelift can be customized to your unique concerns and desired result. Check out these basics about a liquid facelift to see if it the right choice for you.

The Injectable Solution

Dr. Birchall performs a liquid facelift via a combination of injectable treatments. The procedure will likely include three different types of formulations:

  • Neuromodulators like Botox or Dysport, which work by relaxing facial muscles that lead to the formation of wrinkles around the forehead and eyes.
  • Dermal fillers like Juvederm and Restylane, which can plump out wrinkles around the nose and mouth and restore youthful volume to the midface and jawline.
  • Natural filler consists of fat cells that are removed from one area of the body and injected into the face to create a smoother, more youthful appearance that will last many years.

Any of these formulations can be used simultaneously in a single treatment to give you full results in just one visit to our office. Results of these types of treatment appear right away or within a day or two of your procedure so you can enjoy all of the benefits at the same time.

Treatment Options

Within these categories lies a host of different products that each have their strengths in the anti-aging quest. For example, Bellafill and Voluma are specifically designed to add fullness to larger areas of the face, while the smooth consistency of Belotero makes it a good choice for fine lines around the lips. Some formulations, such as Sculptra, offer results that can last for years, while other products may only linger for a few months before a touch-up treatment is needed.

Dermacare Laser & Skin Care Clinics offers a wide range of injectable treatments to suit the needs of all of our patients. Current options include:

  • Botox and Dysport to relax facial wrinkles in the upper face
  • Bellafill and Voluma to restore facial volume
  • Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse and Sculptra to address nearly any area of the face
  • Belotero Balance to smooth fine lines, including those around the mouth
  • Volbella to add volume to the lips

Dr. Birchall will discuss your specific concerns at your initial consultation so that he can recommend the best injectable options to help you meet your aesthetic goals.

Procedure Lowdown

A liquid facelift can be performed in our office on an outpatient basis. The procedure may take just a few minutes to complete, or a little longer if multiple injections are requested. Most patients do not need any type of anesthesia, although a topical numbing cream can be administered for sensitive areas or for patients concerned about their comfort level during the procedure.

No Recovery, Fast Results

Once your liquid facelift is completed, you can immediately return to your daily routine. You may have some mild bruising or swelling around the injection sites but these are not usually very noticeable and tend to subside within a day or two. The results of your procedure may be evident right away and continue to improve as the formulation spreads smoothly into the treatment area.

The duration of your liquid facelift may vary, based on the specific products used and the treatment areas. Botox and Dysport usually last about three to four months, while most dermal fillers last six months to one year. Sculptra and Bellafill, particularly long-lasting filler solutions, can last up to two years or longer before a subsequent treatment is needed.
